Pre-built Slim Apple AirTag User Guide
This guide is made specifically for this product.
I. Inserting the Battery
- Use the pointy end of the included tool to pry up under the crescent-shaped insert with an "UP" label, and remove it from the battery cavity.
- Insert one of the included CR2025 batteries under the "wings" of the battery compartment.
- Use the curved end of the tool to push it almost all the way to the end, leaving 1 mm or 1/25" between the battery and the end of the battery compartment.
- Secure the battery in place by placing the crescent-shaped insert back into position. You should hear a "click".
- Your AirTag is now powered on and ready to pair.
II. Pairing with iPhone
- Bring iPhone close to AirTag and unlock it. If you get an AirTag pop-up, simply go through the setup process, if not, continue to step 2.
- Download and open the FindMy app.
- Tap the blue "+" icon on the right hand side of the screen.
- Select "Add AirTag".
- Your iPhone should start scanning for the AirTag.
- If your iPhone is not detecting the AirTag, make sure the battery is properly inserted as per section I, and try hovering the AirTag towards the back of your iPhone.
- Once the AirTag pops up on your screen, simply go through the setup process.
III. Removing or Replacing Battery
- Use the pointy end of the included tool to pry up under the crescent-shaped insert with an "UP" label, and remove it from the battery cavity.
- Wedge the pointy end of the tool in the small gap between the battery and the battery compartment, and push the battery parallel to the device.
- The battery should now be free.
- To replace the battery, please refer to section I.
- Use ONLY CR2025 batteries as a replacement, do NOT use CR2032 batteries.
IV. Performing a Hard Reset
- Remove the battery by following the steps outlined in section III.
- Remove the device from your FindMy app ("Remove Item" button at the bottom of the device page).
- Making sure to use a brand new battery, Insert the battery in just enough for you to hear the chime. If your device does not have a speaker, follow the same steps nonetheless.
- Once you hear the chime, remove the battery and re-insert it 5 times in succession, or until you hear a different chime (the brand new AirTag pairing chime).
- Your AirTag should now be reset. Insert the battery back in as per section I, and pair it as per section II.
